Fifty-two centimetres tall, which is the height of the arm on most of our sofas, so a cup put down on it is at the same level as a cup put down on the arm. The top is three boards finger-jointed at the ends, and the end grain shows.
Oiled wood marks from a wet glass within minutes. We say this on every page where it applies: use a coaster or accept rings, and re-oil twice a year to blend them.
