Anything not covered here goes to hello@siestahaus.com. The reply comes from someone who has sat in the chair.
Width for the wall, seat height for your knees, and the door clearance for the route in. Every card shows width, depth and height; every product page adds the seat height and the narrowest dimension. The measuring guide walks through it room by room.
Our seats run from 37 cm (the low armchair) to 46 cm (the high-back chair). If getting out of a chair takes a push, choose 44 cm or more and firm arms. If you read with your legs tucked up and nobody in the house has a bad knee, 38 to 42 cm is more comfortable. Sofas sit at 42 to 45 cm.
The 2-seat is 168 cm and seats two or lets one person lie down with bent knees. The 3-seat is 212 cm and lets anyone under about 185 cm lie flat. If the room allows the 3-seat, that is the one people are glad of later.
Yes. Up to five samples are free and posted within a week. Ask by colour name. The linens look different in daylight and lamplight, so look at them in both.
No. There is no showroom; it is one of the reasons the prices are what they are. In its place we put every measurement and every drawback on the page, send free samples, and give you days to send a piece back.
Yes, from the first afternoon, and it is not a fault. Washed linen is soft because the fibres are relaxed, and relaxed fibres crease. It also pills a little in the first months where arms rest; that stops once the loose fibres have gone.
Daylight oxidises the surface. Natural oak goes from pale gold to amber over about a year, faster in a south-facing room, and the side towards the window leads. Ash goes from cream to honey the same way. Smoked oak is already dark and changes least. None of this is a fault, and all of it is why we photograph pieces that are a year old wherever we can.
Feather and down cushions need plumping; a quick shake every few days and a turn once a month keeps them full. Left alone for a season they flatten, and that is the fill working as it does, not a fault. If you want cushions that keep their shape without being touched, choose a piece with foam or fibre fill; every page says which it has.
Yes, on anything sharp: cat claws, belt buckles, the zip of a bag. A pulled loop can be trimmed flush but not rewoven. Households with cats should choose felted wool or linen instead, and we say so on every bouclé page.
A wet glass leaves a ring on oiled oak or ash in minutes. The ring can be sanded out with fine paper and re-oiled at home, which is the reason the wood is oiled and not lacquered. Coasters are the easier answer.
Movement: colour change, a hairline gap at a joint in dry winter air that closes in summer, a drawer that stiffens in humid weather, a cord seat that slackens slightly. Fault: a joint that has opened and stays open, a cracked rail or leg, a spring loose from its rail, a slat broken. Faults are repaired or replaced under the guarantee.
Every solid-wood frame, including legs, rails, joints, slats and the springs fixed to them, for 5 years from delivery in ordinary domestic use. If one fails we repair it, replace the part, or replace the piece, and we pay the transport. The care page lists what is and is not included.
Not by the frame guarantee: fabric, feather, foam and cord are wearing parts and they are not frames. They are covered by the statutory two-year conformity period for faults in materials or workmanship, and replacements are available to buy for at least five years after a piece is discontinued.
Yes. It follows the piece, not the buyer. The new owner needs the order reference or the original buyer's name and approximate date.
The guarantee is for homes. Pieces in offices, waiting rooms, cafés or rentals are covered for two years instead, and we say so when a trade order is placed.
No. It is in addition. Your two-year statutory conformity period and your 14-day right of withdrawal stand regardless of anything on this page.
Furniture goes by two-person delivery to the kerb or the ground-floor entrance, for a flat €29,00 and free from €400,00. The crew call to agree a day. Carrying to the room and unpacking can be added for a quoted fee once we know the floor and the stairs.
Legs come off everything, and the daybed and the deep sofa come in parts, so most pieces go up most stairwells on their side. The product page shows the narrowest dimension; measure the tightest turn against it. If you are not sure, email a photo of the stairwell and we will tell you.
In-stock pieces are delivered in 3 to 10 working days depending on size. Made-to-order sofas and chairs take 3 to 8 weeks; the lead time is on each page. The window seat cushion is cut after you send your measurements.
Note it on the delivery sheet, photograph it before the packaging is removed further, and email us. We send replacement parts or a replacement piece and arrange collection of the damaged one afterwards; you are not left without a sofa in the meantime.
30 days from delivery, unused and in its packaging, for any reason. Small pieces go back by post at your cost; furniture is collected by two people for a fee we state before you confirm. Made-to-measure cushions and fabric cut to order cannot be returned unless faulty. The delivery page has the detail.
Send the room, the door and the person who will sit in it. Write to us.
